Welcome to part 2 of our Disney Wedding Cake series. If you missed Part 1, check out the princess wedding cakes HERE.
But what about all the other awesome Disney non-princesses? These kick-butt heroines deserve pretty cakes too!
Cue the curtain lift.
Jane from Tarzan
Lee Len Photography via Martha Stewart
Jane, the kind-hearted, intelligent adventuress, has excellent taste in cakes! And she could classify all of the flora on her cake too.
Megara from Hercules
Disney
Nadia and Co. via Martha Stewart
Hercules: “Aren’t you a damsel in distress?”
Meg: “I’m a damsel. I’m in distress. I can handle this. Have a nice day.”
Proof once again that Meg is underrated. But she deserves a gorgeous cake like this with a unique Greek-inspired cake stand.
Esmerelda from The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Disney
This stained glass wedding cake is STUNNING. It’s channeling all the cathedral vibes, and Esmerelda is here for it, along with the rest of us.
Princess Kida from Atlantis
Blair Caldwell; Disney
Ok, technically Princess Kida is a princess (obviously), but I’ve never seen her on a Disney Princess t-shirt. Which is a shame, because she is awesome! Either way, this boho island cake is Atlantis perfection.
Sarah Hawkins from Treasure Planet
Disney
Speaking of underrated, Treasure Planet is probably one of my favorite Disney movies. It’s refreshing that the romance is so light in this film. But, if one of the BEST animated single moms did get her happily ever after, her cake would definitely have subtle steampunk/futuristic vibes. Notice the mini paper airplanes. 🤩
Wendy Darling from Peter Pan
Disney
Still Wendy, but all grown up and sophisticated. The draped fabric is a sweet ode to the youthful bow of her nightgown.
Jesse from Toy Story
Disney
Jesse´s wedding cake would be all things rustic and playful. I can also imagine her loving this cake topper. 😆
Anastasia
Don Bluth/Disney
Anastasia + Dimitri forever 🤍 This exquisite royal cake inspired by architectural detail work in Versailles is fit for a lost Russian princess. I can hear the haunting trill of Anastasia’s music box now.
Alice in Wonderland
☝️ Disney based their version of ‘Alice’ off Kathryn Beaumont, a young actress who ended up voicing both Alice and Wendy. (Fun side note: See more details on how she helped them with the animation here.)
But back to wedding cakes, once little Alice is all grown up, she will of course choose something utterly whimsical. Like this:
Or go with an eerie twist . . .
And that’s a wrap for our Disney heroine wedding cakes.
Up next is part 3, Disney Villian wedding cakes. Eeek!
